In Memory

This piece is written in memory of our beloved classmate Marc Andres Lim Fuller.

Marc Andres Lim Fuller was born in Alamogordo, New Mexico on September 25, 1984. He was a joy to his parents Ray and Maureen Fuller. He attended Mary Buren Elementary School, McKenzie Junior High School and Righetti High School. He graduated from Amherst College in 2006 as a Philosophy major. Afterwards, he attended the University of Minnesota Law School.

Marc and his fiancee Kaleena Colón met at Amherst College. He went on to the University of Minnesota Law School and Kaleena joined him there to attend the School of Social Work. During his memorial service Kaleena was overjoyed to see how many lives Marc touched. There were so many people - teachers, family and friends - who spoke about Marc.

Kaleena has shared with us a few things she shared during his Memorial Service in Guadalupe, California.

“From the beginning Marc and I disagreed about the first time we met. I insisted it was when he drove me to Mount Holyoke and he insisted that we met before that. Ultimately, it doesn't matter when we met but that we did. In the time that I knew Marc we made so many memories together. It was something he was incredibly proud of. He lived for his memories. We took a class together at Amherst, a Social Psychology class, which was amazing. After college he drove me across the country, visiting Disneyland, New Mexico, the Grand Canyon and so many other places. We shared our first home together in Minnesota. And we had our first child together. So many firsts and so many memories. In the end, on December 31, 2012, Marc lost his battle with depression. I will always cherish our history and that piece of him that will live on forever---Nathaniel, our 5 year old son and "Gift from God."”

Marc loved to email Kaleena random memories, lyrics and messages; she has hundreds of emails that they wrote each other during his life. After his death, Kaleena found an email with an excerpt of the lyrics to one of his favorite songs "The Way" by Fastball that connected with her.

Anyone could see the road that they walk on is paved in gold
And it's always summer, they'll never get cold
They'll never get hungry
They'll never get old and gray
You can see their shadows wandering off somewhere
They wont make it home
But they really don't care
They wanted the highway
They're happy there today, today

Marc Andres Lim Fuller '06 is survived by his loving parents Ray and Maureen Fuller, his sister Maya Fuller, and his son Nathaniel Andres Colón Fuller and many other loving family members and friends. Marc is remembered as a good friend and for his love of sports, especially the LA Lakers. Marc is as a dreamer who will live on in our memories.
